Q: How do I open a bank account in Singapore?


A: To be able to open a bank account in Singapore, you have to present a photocopy of your passport, employer’s letter, and your bank statement from a bank in your own country. There are a lot of Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) in Singapore as well as being able to purchase without cash using the NETS system.

Q: Who is eligible to apply for an Employment Pass?


A: Getting an Employment Pass requires passing the criteria for eligibility in Singapore. To see the details of this criteria, go to our Singapore Ministry of Manpower website or the Contact Singapore website.

Q: What must I do if my spouse or child is relocating to Singapore with me?


A: Dependent Passes may be applied for by a holder of an Employment Pass for their spouse, and single children below 21 years old.

A: Please see the ICA Website to get a list of requirements for those wishing to apply for a Professional Visit Pass.

Q: I am a professional/ specialist. Which Singapore agency should I write to if I wish to seek employment in Singapore?

Q: What is Central Provident Fund (CPF)?


A: The Central Provident Fund is utilized for the need of the population for housing, family protection, healthcare and investment. For further information, please proceed to the CPF website.

Q: Do foreigners need to contribute to the CPF?


A: Only those foreigners with permanent residence status are required to contribute to the CPF. Please see the CPF website for further information.
